State Rep. Dan Ugaste to host blood drive

Illinois State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-McHenry/Kane County)

GENEVA – State Rep. Dan Ugaste, R-Geneva, is hosting a blood drive in partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois.

The event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Einstein Academy, 747 Davis Road, Elgin. Food donations for local food pantries are also welcome during the event.

According to a news release, Rep. Ugaste’s blood drive will help local blood banks increase their supply amid the many canceled blood drives across Illinois throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The upcoming drive will help mitigate the blood shortage that has affected the state over the last ten months.

“Every blood donation can help make a difference and I would encourage anyone who is able, to come out to this event,” Rep. Ugaste stated in the release.
