Batavia school district announces return plan for upcoming school year

All staff and students will wear masks

BATAVIA – Batavia Public School District 101 announced Wednesday that the district will follow Gov. JB Pritzker’s mask mandate, and will require universal masking in all schools, according to a news release from the district.

“These safety requirements are designed to protect all of us, especially vulnerable individuals and our youngest students who are not yet able to get the vaccine. These requirements will stay in place until state and local health data improve and after further consultation with our local public health experts and advisors,” the release stated.

Families can find more details about universal masking and information about the other mitigation strategies on the district’s website, the release stated.

The school year begins Aug. 18.
