Deputies responded to a report of an accident with injuries at Route 72 and Big Timber Road in Rutland Township shortly before 6:20 on March 7, according to reports.
A 2008 blue Honda Odyssey van – whose driver was later identified as Danner – had struck the passenger side of a 2002 brown Ford F-350 pickup truck at the intersection, the report stated.
The Ford’s driver told deputies he was approaching the intersection traveling west on Route 72 and had the right-of-way to turn left on Big Timber, the report stated.
He saw a blue mini-van traveling north on Big Timber, approaching the intersection, but the mini-van did not stop, crossed the middle of the intersection and struck the front end of his truck, the pickup driver told deputies, according to the report.
Pingree Grove & Countryside Fire Protection District transported Danner to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin where he “was being combative with the hospital staff and had to be restrained to the bed by hospital security,” the report stated.
Danner is scheduled to appear in court April 14.
