St. Charles Public Library to present virtual concert Sunday

The St. Charles Public Library’s Virtual Concert Series continues on Sunday with a special performance by the Silver-Rose Duo.

Award-winning concert flutist Kim Fleuchaus and international performing guitarist Julie Goldberg blend their lyrical playing, fiery technique, and lively interpretations into the Silver-Rose Duo. Fleuchaus and Goldberg began their duo in 2001 while studying at Northwestern University.

Each has gone on to earn critical acclaim as soloists, chamber musicians, musical scholars, and sought-after instructors. Fleuchaus and Goldberg share the desire to communicate, connect, and educate through music.

Their program Home and Away, explores works inspired by travel, distant places, and the joy of returning home, and includes the premiere performance of Christopher Teves’ latest work for flute and guitar. Composers include Marais, Falcon, Piazzolla, Teves, Elizondo, and Merlin.

This event is part of the Library’s Sunday Concert Series which features a wide variety of musical performances. The performance is funded through donations to the St. Charles Public Library Foundation. The concert will be recorded and available to view on YouTube from April 18-25.
