A Streator man died late Friday night after being struck by a train near the Main and James Street crossing, according to the Streator Police Department.
Police said officers responded at about 11:36 p.m. on Friday to a report of a pedestrian struck by a BNSF train at the crossing. Emergency medical assistance was provided, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available, police said.
