High school football: Quarterfinal results; recaps for every game

Cary-Grove 42, Crystal Lake Central 21: Cary-Grove’s Ben Hurt-Haller blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown to jumpstart the Trojans, who scored the first 42 points and rolled to a Class 6A quarterfinal win.

Lake Forest 22, Prairie Ridge 21: The Wolves looked to be in control of their Class 6A quarterfinal matchup, but Lake Forest forced a crucial turnover and proceeded to march 92 yards on 11 plays for the game-winning score in the final seconds.

Richmond-Burton 27, Phillips 26: Landon Jacoby’s interception sealed a 27-26 win for Richmond-Burton over Phillips on Saturday. The win sends the Rockets back to the Class 4A semifinals and sets up a showdown with Joliet Catholic.

Prospect 35, Jacobs 21: With senior Owen Walter stepping in at quarterback, Prospect kept its offense on track to take down Jacobs, 35-21, Saturday in the Class 7A quarterfinals.
