Roundup: Forreston secures playoff berth; Amboy-LaMoille falls on road

The Forreston Cardinals secured a playoff berth for the 11th straight year with a 36-7 win at home over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on Saturday afternoon.

The Cardinals (6-2) ran for 347 yards and five touchdowns on 45 carries, and had five backs rush for more than 45 yards. The defense limited GCMS (3-5) to 143 total yards.

Noah Johnson led the way with 76 yards and a score, while Kaleb Sanders added 68 yards and a touchdown, and Devonte King-Black had 64 yards and a TD. Matthew Beltran ran for 48 yards, Micah Nelson added 47 yards and a TD, and Jacob Fiorello finished with 27 yards and a TD.

Orangeville 55, Amboy-LaMoille 6: The Clippers couldn’t get anything going in an 8-man game, falling to 4-4 on the season after a loss on the road to the Broncos (7-1).
