Rivalry night in Bureau County

Princeton renews rivalry with BV, Hall hosts St. Bede

It’s rivalry night in Bureau County.

The Week 8 lineup of area football games is highlighted by a pair of rivalry games.

The Bureau Valley Storm and the Princeton Tigers will renew their “Rumble and a Roar” for the first time in 23 years at Bryant Field. The last time the teams met, the Tigers won 40-0 at Bryant Field. PHS also won the team’s first meeting the year before, 53-16, also at Bryant Field.

Princeton stands 6-1, looking to improve its playoff seeding. BV (2-5) looks to snap a five-game skid having won its first games of the season.

Tiger coach Ryan Pearson said “every business in Bureau County should close for this one.”

In Spring Valley, the Hall Red Devils (1-6) welcome rival St. Bede (5-2) to Nesti Stadium. With a win, the Bruins clinch a playoff berth.
