High school football: Week 5 results; recaps for every game

Oswego 41, Minooka 28: Mark Melton ran for 241 yards and four touchdowns – all of the scores coming in the second half, the first on a hook-and-ladder, carrying Oswego past Minooka 41-28 in the Southwest Prairie West opener.

Oswego East 27, West Aurora 7: Juny Almeida scooped up a fumble of an attempted lateral pass and raced 78 yards for the first of two team defensive scores, and Oswego East went on to beat West Aurora 27-7 in the SPC West opener to remain unbeaten at 5-0.

Plano 27, Johnsburg 26: Plano’s Ray Jones scored with just over two minutes remaining, and the Reapers’ defense made a stop on Johnsburg’s final drive to come away with a 27-26 victory in their Kishwaukee River/Interstate Eight Blue game.

Plainfield North 31, Yorkville 3: Quarterback Harrison Klein finished with 66 yards rushing and 117 yards passing with two touchdowns, and Plainfield North cruised past Yorkville 31-3 in the Southwest Prairie West opener.

Richmond-Burton 55, Sandwich 6: Austin Marks scored on a 33-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for Sandwich’s lone score. Richmond-Burton led 48-0 at the half. Seven Tornga ran for 79 yards on 20 carries for Sandwich (0-5).
