Team of the Week MVP: Jaden Michlig, LB Bureau Valley

Michlig had an interception, a fumble recovery, ran for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns in 50-7 win. He received more than 325 votes at FridayNightDrive.com for our Team of the Week MVP.

18 carries, 131 yards, 2 TDs rushing as the Wolves beat Burlington Central to move to 2-0. Stepped in at QB after starter was hurt a week before the opener.

Tre Jones, Oswego East

12 for 22, 184 yards, 3 TDs, 32 yards rushing in 28-14 win over Lincoln-Way West

Colton Madura, Crystal Lake Central

23-for-29 passing, 282 yards, five TDs in 41-34 win over Jacobs. Also ran for a TD.

Running Back

Bailey Livdahl, Harvard

20 carries, 267 yards, 2 TDs in 34-22 win over Woodstock North. Had TD runs of 65 and 72.

Tom Durdan, Marquette

Carried the ball eight times for 139 yards and four touchdowns in Marquette’s victory over Chicago Christian

Joey Pope, Glenbard West

Ran for 185 yards, scored 3 TDs in 49-0 win over Downers Grove South

Julian Turner, Montini

3 catches, 115 yards, 2 TDs

Ty Carlson, Oswego East

7 catches, 158 yards, 3 TDs in 28-14 win over Lincoln-Way West

Tyreke Fortney, St. Bede

8 receptions for 172 yards and a TD and also ran for a TD in a 15-13 win.

Offensive Line

Lincoln Cooley, Sycamore

Dominated both lines for the Spartans. Couldn’t run at him and he paved the way for every big run

Michael Sauber, Genoa-Kingston

The Cogs had 330 rushing yards in their win, but no back had more than six carries The line was consistent led by Sauber regardless who was carrying the ball

2 INTs and 2 PBUs as Wolves moved to 2-0 with 41-14 win over Burlington Central

Nick Martino, Huntley

Blocked a punt that was returned for Huntley’s first touchdown and returned an interception for its second TD in 16-13 win over McHenry

Returned two interceptions (88, 60) for touchdowns to turn the tide in a win at DeKalb
