OFFENSE

Manny Cervantes, Yorkville, senior, offensive/defensive line: Two-way starter. Defensively made 18 tackles, five of them solos, with three tackles for loss and an interception in six games.

Luke Davies, Yorkville, senior, quarterback: First-year starting quarterback completed 70 of 175 passes for an area-best 1,001 yards and six touchdowns. Committed to Briar Cliff University.

Michael Ford, Oswego East, senior, quarterback: Two-year starting quarterback was a threat throwing and running and led a young Wolves’ offense. Was 64 for 121 passing for 682 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for 245 yards on 50 carries with two TDs.

Nik Hampton, Oswego, senior, receiver: Two-year starter had 26 catches for 276 yards and two TDs. Also played some defensive back.

Otto Hess, Oswego, senior, offensive line: Boston College recruit and mammoth 6-foot-7, 310-pound left tackle was anchor of Oswego’s offensive line. Two-year varsity starter is 27th-ranked player in Illinois’ senior class by 247Sports.

Matt Maldonado, Yorkville, senior, kicker/punter: Wisconsin-Whitewater commit won Foxes’ game with Oswego East with a game-winning field goal on last play. A weapon both as a placekicker and punter, Maldonado was 5 for 6 on field goals with a long of 39 yards and 8 for 11 on extra points with a 33.38 yard average on punts with 19.05% inside the 20-yard line.

Darquel Sanders, Oswego East, junior, running back: Speedster who has run a 4.33 40 time burst out of the gate with strong start in just his second year of playing football. For the season Sanders ran for 412 yards on 73 carries with three TDs, and caught 17 passes for 171 yards and a TD.

Will Schumacher, Yorkville, senior, linebacker/fullback: Two-way starter made Yorkville’s offense go with blocking and communication. Defensively made 36 tackles, six of them solos. Committed to Saint Anselm College.

Jarek Slavin, Yorkville, senior, offensive/defensive line: Committed to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Two-way starter anchored Foxes’ offensive line and made 17 tackles defensively at defensive tackle.

Oswego sophomore receiver Deakon Tonielli

Deakon Tonielli, Oswego, sophomore, wide receiver: At 6-foot-5, Tonielli was a matchup nightmare for opponents and emerged as a big-play threat in first varsity season. Had 25 catches for team-best 440 yards and three TDs. Made eight catches for 128 yards in win over Minooka that clinched SPC West title.

Sandwich sophomore Seven Tornga

Seven Tornga, Sandwich, sophomore, running back/linebacker: First team all-conference pick named a team captain as a sophomore. Tornga ran for team-best 249 yards in five games with four TDs. Defensively, made 28 tackles.

Aidan Tweedy, Oswego, senior, offensive line: Wayne State recruit was a bookend to Otto Hess along Oswego’s offensive line at right tackle. Two-year starter played in Panthers’ last game, a conference-title clinching win over Minooka, after he was cleared that morning with a shoulder injury.

DEFENSE

Dylan Allen, Oswego East, senior, defensive back: Former backup quarterback had two interceptions in Wolves’ win over Oswego, their first win in crosstown series. For the season Allen had four interceptions, seven passes defensed and made 18.5 tackles.

Christian Aquino, Yorkville, senior, linebacker: Aquino had 34 tackles for another strong Foxes’ defense. Committed to St. Xavier University.

Jared Badie, Oswego East, junior, linebacker: Highly-recruited outside linebacker made 36 tackles, 25 of them solos with 5.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and two passes defensed in second season as starter. Holds 14 scholarship offers including Michigan State, Nebraska and Tennessee.

Evan Brown, Oswego, senior, linebacker: Repeat All-Area pick. Brown made team-high 60 tackles, 21 of them solos, forced one fumble and had three fumble recoveries and one blocked punt. Offensively, ran for 129 yards at 9.2 yard-per-carry average with three TDs, including game-winning score against Minooka.

Gianni Cammarata, Oswego East, senior, linebacker: Repeat All-Area pick. Cammarata made 48 tackles, 34 of them solos, and had seven tackles for loss.

Anthony Cikauskas, Oswego, senior, defensive line: Repeat All-Area pick. Two-year starter, who will play collegiately at Olivet Nazarene, had 29 tackles, 16 of them solos, with six tackles for loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles.

Matt Egly, Oswego, senior, defensive line: Repeat All-Area pick. Three-year varsity player, two-year starter had 51 tackles, 24 of them solos, with seven tackles for loss, three sacks and one forced fumble.

Jacob Garlick, Oswego, senior, linebacker: Garlick had 48 tackles, 16 of them solos, and two tackles for loss with one sack, one interception and one forced fumble.

Braydon Grabavoy, Oswego East, senior, defensive line: Two-way starter also played guard on offense. Went from 275 pounds as a junior to 240 this spring, and the added speed made him force up front. Grabavoy had 27.5 tackles, 17 of them solos, with eight tackles for loss and three sacks.

Yorkville sophomore defensive back Blake Kersting

Blake Kersting, Yorkville, sophomore, safety: Foxes’ free safety made 31 tackles and two interceptions in first varsity season.

Eddie Sanchez, Plano, senior, defensive line: First team all-conference pick in the Interstate Eight. Sanchez, a defensive tackle, made 33 tackles, eight tackles for loss, had team-high four sacks and one fumble recovery in five games.

Luca Schoensee, Plano, junior, linebacker: Outside linebacker was first team all-conference pick in the Interstate Eight. Made 47 tackles and 11 tackles for loss, both team highs. Also had two sacks and forced two fumbles.
