Burlington Central at McHenry canceled as McHenry must quarantine for COVID-19

Burlington Central’s football game at McHenry, scheduled for a 6 p.m. start, has been canceled for COVID-19 protocols.

Burlington Central’s athletic Twitter account announced around 4:30 p.m. that “Tonight’s football game is canceled due to McHenry HS football team being quarantined.”

The game was a matchup of two teams that finished fourth in their respective divisions of the Fox Valley Conference. Burlington Central was 1-4, McHenry was 2-2 with wins in its last two games.

This is the final week of games for football under the IHSA’s adjusted season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
