This will be the final meeting between the Steamers and the Tigers with Fulton leaving the Three Rivers next year in favor of the NUIC. ... The Steamers have outscored their four opponents 49.6 to 6.5. In one common opponent with Princeton, Fulton beat Orion 45-14 in its first game in Week 2 while the Tigers beat the Chargers 48-7 in Week 4. ... Fulton beat Monmouth-Roseville 49-6 last week. ... The Steamers lost at Princeton 45-7 in 2019, but pitched an 18-0 shutout over the Tigers in 2016. ... Fulton was on the verge of knocking off regular-season undefeated team in 2015, but fumbled the ball away late and lost 24-20.

About Princeton:The Tigers remain ranked No. 2 in this week’s AP 3A poll. They have now defeated two defending champions - 1A Lena-Winslow, 35-14, in Week 1, and 2A Newman, 28-14, last week. ... PHS has a stronger strength of schedule than Fulton (3-15) with its five opponents posting a 12-12 combined record. ... PHS quarterback Tyler Gibson came up big for the Tigers in last week’s win over Newman, throwing for two touchdowns and running for the go-ahead score. ... With no playoffs to play for, PHS coach Ryan Pearson billed last week’s Newman game as the Tigers’ “semifinals” and this week as their “state championship.” ... PHS can even the score in the all-time series, which Fulton leads 3-2.

BCR insider: The Bruins look to go out on a winning note with a TRAC crossover encounter against the Chargers. In a normal season, the Bruins would seek to become playoff eligible with their fifth win and that’s important for the Bruins, coach Jim Eustice said. “It’s very important for these seniors and the program if we can end up 5-1. That’s something they can hang their hat on. This year will certainly be something they can hang their hat on. This year will certainly be one that’s never forgotten.” .... Junior Tyreke Fortney led the Bruins to a 35-16 win at Bureau Valley Saturday with four touchdowns (3 by receiving, 1 by rushing). ... Several St. Bede players are transitioning to either baseball or track and field this week, as well as Bruins coaches Bill Booker, Mike Bima and Eustice, who all coach baseball.

About Orion: The Chargers, who will finish with a losing record for the first time since 2013 and only their third since coach Chip Filler took over in 2009, have played a playoff-caliber schedule with losses to the Three Rivers’ three unbeaten teams Rockridge (5-0), Princeton (5-0) and Fulton (4-0). ... Orion posted its lone win of the spring in Week 3, defeating Monmouth-Roseville 13-8. ... The Chargers lost to Sherrard last week 13-7., their first lost to the Tigers since 2009. ... Orion seeks to upset the Bruins and take a 3-2 series lead, which now stands tied with two wins apiece.

About Amboy-LaMoille: This week’ game will be the Clipper’s last in 11-man football before switchng to 8-man next season. RB Sean Fitzpatrick has rushed for 478 yards and four touchdowns on 100 attempts. His 119.5 yards a game ranks first in the area. QB Lane Boehle completed 2 of 7 passes for 51 yards, including a 15-yard TD pass to Brennan Blaine.

About Rockford Christian: Rockford Christian picked up its first win last week with a 54-18 rout of West Carroll, which A-L beat, 16-8, for its lone win. QB Caden Norquist has completed 57 of 80 passes for 691 yards and six touchdowns. His top targets are Isaiah Johnson (26 receptions, 331 yards, three TDs) and Gage Wiebe (12 receptions, 205 yards, three TDs). RB Noah Ross has run for 102 yards and a TD on 23 attempts.
