Last matchup: Prairie Ridge defeated C-G, 42-7, in Week 8 last season. The two played a much different game in the Class 6A playoff quarterfinals, with Prairie Ridge holding on for a 14-13 victory.

About the Wolves: Prairie Ridge dropped to No. 8 in The Associated Press Class 6A poll after its 14-13 overtime loss to Crystal Lake Central. … The Wolves have a balanced rushing attack with RB Tyler Vasey (261 yards), QB Taidhgin Trost (238) and FB Carter Evans (213). … The two teams have four Class 6A state titles since 2009 and eight title game appearances since that time. … Prairie Ridge has won five of the last six meetings, but most of the games were close.

About the Trojans: C-G is ranked No. 2 in Class 6A, but has only been able to play its opener because of COVID-19 quarantine the last two weeks. … FB Nick Hissong had a big day in the opener, a 28-20 victory over Burlington Central, with 183 rushing yards and three touchdowns. About the Tigers: Central is coming off one of its biggest victories in years, a 14-13 overtime win against Prairie Ridge.
