Friday Night Drive’s Power Rankings: Week 13

Lockport's Dylan Schumutzler (11) is tracked down by Loyola during the IHSA Class 8A varsity football semifinal playoff game between Lockport Township and Loyola Academy on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Wilmette.

Seven of the Top 10 teams in the Friday Drive Power Rankings from the state semifinals advanced to state championship games and are among the 16 teams still playing into the final weekend.

Lockport made the biggest move up the poll by toppling Loyola in the Class 8A semifinals. Loyola had spent the entire season ranked either first or second in the Power Rankings and Lockport is playing great football at the right time, losing just once this season, to Lincoln-Way East in a game played without the services of their all-state quarterback Hayden Timosciek.

Three new teams joined the Top 25. Sacred Heart-Griffin moved into the rankings at No. 19 after toppling Rochester in the latest installment of the Leonard Bowl, while Byron (No. 24) and Wilmington (No. 25) round out the bottom of the poll.
