BRADLEY — The Bradley Fire Department expanded its force by two officers as two veteran firefighters were sworn into duty.

At Monday’s Bradley Village Board meeting, officers Brad Senesac and Greg Devries took the oath of office.

Both firefighters have worked as part-time firefighters with the Bradley Fire Department.

Devries, 43, of Watseka, has also worked for the Watseka Fire Department as well as the New Lenox force. Devries gained his education through home schooling. He was a 2000 graduate.

Senesac, 45, of Aroma Park, a 1997 graduate of Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School, had been with the Aroma Fire Protection District previously.

Fire Chief Don Kaderabek noted after the board meeting, the department is budgeted for 12 firefighters. He is hopeful a 12th firefighter can be hired within the first four months on 2025.

The village has been slowly building its fire fighting department. With the past year, the department has added a second fire station, in the village’s northern portion.

The village also maintains a fire station at the West Broadway Street location where the village hall is located.
