DeKalb County Democrats hosting free virtual training on gender, pronouns Thursday

DeKALB – The DeKalb County Democratic Party will host a free online training on Zoom on gender and pronouns at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24.

The online training is open to the community, according to a Tuesday news release from the party.

“In recognition of [LGBTQ+] pride month, the party believes it is important to help educate ourselves and our community so that we can be the most inclusive organization and community possible,” Kori Rempfer, DeKalb County Democratic Party Chair, said in the release.

Eva-Genevieve Scarborough will head the online training and discussion. Scarborough is openly transgender, coming out fully in 2006 and is an activist and volunteer for LGBTQ+ equality. She goes by “she/her” pronouns and is also comfortable with “they/them” pronouns.

Pre-registration for this free event is required. Individuals must email info@dekalbcountydemocrats.org to receive the registration link, according to the party.
