DeKALB – Old Navy opened its new store in DeKalb on Wednesday. The store’s grand opening will be Saturday, April 24.

Old Navy is located at 2439 Sycamore Road in the Oakland Place shopping center, the former location of Barnes & Noble. The store is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.

To celebrate its opening, the store is offering an in-store coupon of $15 off a purchase of $75 or more through May 5.

The store was initially anticipated to open August or September 2020, but Mid-America Management Corporation delayed the opening of any new stores, including the new Old Navy location, until this year because of the pandemic.

Old Navy is using 12,500 square feet of the building’s space, with the remaining 7,000 square feet available for another retailer.

Old Navy was previously located between Michael’s and T.J. Maxx and left the shopping center in February 2012. The former location was divided into two retail spaces: Five Below and the former DSW.

According to the city, the store has created about 40 jobs.
