League of Women Voters of DeKalb County to host virtual Tea and Talk event for Sycamore alderman candidates

SYCAMORE – Candidates for the Sycamore Second Ward Alderman race are expected to attend and answer questions on various issues during a virtual Tea and Talk event this week hosted by the League of Women Voters of DeKalb County.

According to a Facebook event created by the league, the group used to have Tea and Talk every other Friday at the Common Grounds in downtown DeKalb before the COVID-19 pandemic. Event coordinators wrote the group is bringing back the event virtually on Zoom and live-streaming the event 4 p.m. Friday, April 2 on the non-partisan political organization’s Facebook page, covering contested Sycamore City Council races.

“Bring your tea and your appetite for democracy,” event organizers wrote.

Sycamore Second Ward candidates include incumbent Pete Paulsen and challenger Mike Rodriguez. They both had agreed to attend.

The League of Women Voters of DeKalb County is asking the public to send questions in advance to LWVDKC.IL@GMAIL.COM. The public also can submit questions during the event itself via the live stream comment section on the league’s Facebook page, @LWVDKCIL.
