DeKalb County Habitat for Humanity to hold family selection orientation Wednesday

SYCAMORE – Habitat for Humanity of DeKalb County will hold an essential orientation meeting for those interested in becoming Habitat homeowners.

The virtual meeting to be held over Zoom is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday. Attending this meeting is an essential step to becoming a Habitat homeowner, organization officials wrote in a news release.

The organization is planning to begin construction of a home in the spring of 2021, according to the news release.

Four basic criteria that individuals or families must meet to be considered for Habitat homeownership include a need for adequate housing, the ability to pay a mortgage, the willingness to partner with the organization in the construction of the home, and prior residency in DeKalb County for at least one year. The requirements and qualifications for being accepted as a partner family will be explained and application forms will be available.
