HomeTown Association of Realtors donates $5K to help build Welsh Park toddler garden

DeKALB – HomeTown Association of Realtors (HAR) received a $4,500 Placemaking grant from the National Association of Realtors to partner with the DeKalb Regional Office of Education, DeKalb County Community Gardens, DeKalb Park District, Basic DeKalb County and community volunteers to build a toddler garden at Welsh Park on Russell Road.

The National Association of Realtors awards the grants to local realtor associations to help partner with organizations and local governments in transforming underutilized spaces into vibrant public spaces for the community to gather and enjoy, according to a recent news release.

The toddler garden will be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant for all children to enjoy. Weekly education programming will be posted on the activities board on how to engage with the garden amenities, including exploring movement through play on the obstacle paver course, the rain garden, musical wooden flowers and more.
