DeKALB – Nearly 1,800 DeKalb County educators have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, according to updates from DeKalb District 428 officials during Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting.
During the meeting, it was announced that as of Feb. 11, nearly 1,800 DeKalb County educators, or 97.3% of school staff throughout the county, have received their first round of the COVID-19 vaccination. Due to concerns about side effects, the DeKalb County Health Department plans to schedule the second vaccine dose for educators on Thursdays and Fridays, to accommodate any days off educators may need to recoup after possible side effects, which health officials say is expected.
