Alexus Morrow took 14th for the DeKalb girls golf team Wednesday at the DuPage Valley Conference tournament.
“I would love to have a [separate] boys and girls program,” DeKalb coach Brad Kerkman said. “Sometimes the girls don’t benefit playing with the boys from the longer tees.”
Morrow shot an 88 in the tournament, which individually was won by Neuqua Valley’s Sarah Zeng with a 78. Neuqua Valley won the team title by one stroke over Naperville North.
“She was pretty consistent all day off the tee,” Kerkman said of Murrow. “On the first 10 holes, she had five or six one-putts, so she was getting up and down very nicely. She probably played her best round of the year.”
Kaneland wins at Edgebrook: The Knights shot a 191 to beat Lisle and Somonauk.
Katherine Marshall was the medalist with a 38.
Kaneland 158, Morris 169: The Knights picked up a win in the final Interstate 8 match of the regular season.
Earlville 7, Indian Creek 0: The Timberwolves fell in a Little 10 Conference battle.
DeKalb 5, Bartlett 2: The Barbs took a road win in a nonconference match.
