Sycamore’s boys basketball team kept up the pressure throughout their home victory over Byron on Monday, turning in an excellent second half to secure a 41-34 win in Sycamore.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Hiawatha 20, DePue 17: At Serena, the Hawks picked up a win in a low-scoring Little Ten Conference Tournament matchup.
Somonauk 46, Indian Creek 42: At Serena, the Timberwolves were handed a Little Ten Conference Tournament loss.
Schaumburg 47, Kaneland 16: At Batavia, the Knights (10-10) were no match for Schaumburg in tournament action.
McKenzie Schueler’s six points were tops in the loss.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Genoa-Kingston 57, Hinckley-Big Rock 51: At Genoa, Jake Oates led the way with 19 points in the sixth win in a row for G-K (15-3), and Colin Nesler scored 15.
Judson Scott had 18 points for H-BR (12-8), and Ben Hintzsche added 11 points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Sycamore 53, Sandwich 31: At Sandwich, the Spartans improved to 17-0 overall and 7-0 in conference play with a road win.
WRESTLING
Yorkville quadrangular: At Yorkville, Kaneland had one win and a pair of losses, defeating Oak Lawn and losing to Wheaton North and Yorkville.
Cameron Phillips, Caden Grabowski, Kyle Rogers, Cole Olsen, Ade Sanni, Diego Serriteno and Nate Diaz recorded wins in the Knights’ 40-21 win over Oak Lawn.
Phillips, Serriteno, Diaz and Cameron Scholl had wins in the 45-30 loss to Wheaton North, and the Knights were shut out, 76-0, against Yorkville.
BOYS BOWLING
Sycamore Regional: At Sycamore, the Spartans earned a spot at sectionals by finishing fourth out of 12 teams in postseason action at home.
Sycamore edged DeKalb, which placed fifth and missed advancing to sectionals by 79 pins, and Kaneland took ninth.
Evan Borowicz led the Spartans with a 1,190 series, Tommy Rebuletti wasn’t far behind at 1,158, and Jaxon Lang came in at 1,106.
Kaneland’s Corbin Vines and Dylan Conklin advanced to sectionals as individuals with scores of 1,261 and 1,169, respectively, as did DeKalb’s Aaron Lewis (1,142) and Michael Sciabaras (1,139).
