DeKalb boys basketball team wins big at Marian Central

Sean Reynolds led the way to a breezy win for DeKalb on Thursday as the Barbs rolled past Marian Central, 67-28, in Woodstock.

Reynolds led all scorers with 20 points in the victory, while Jackson Kees chipped in with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Genoa-Kingston 49, Richmond-Burton 44: At Richmond, the Cogs put together a fourth quarter rally to secure a come-from-behind win.

G-K outscored its host by a 22-10 margin in the final period – 13 of which came from Jake Oates, who scored a game-high 28 points in the win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Neuqua Valley 50, DeKalb 40: At DeKalb, the Barbs started out strong and had a lead to end the first quarter but were unable to hold on down the stretch.

Serena 59, Indian Creek 22: At Shabbona, the Timberwolves struggled to contain the visiting Irish in a one-sided home loss.

Geena Sanford had 10 points for IC (11-10), and Audrey Witte had eight points.

Somonauk 39, Hinckley-Big Rock 33: At Somonauk, the Royals struggled getting to the line, tallying 20 fewer free throws than Somonauk in a road loss.

Ashleigh Wackerlin and Sydney Razo-Ewan scored 10 points apiece for H-BR (14-4).

Genoa-Kingston 53, Polo 39: At Genoa, the Cogs finished strong en route to a home victory.

Ally Poegel led G-K (13-6) with 22 points, Emily Trzynka scored 12 and Emily Gilbert added 11 points.

GYMNASTICS

DeKalb 142.75, Waubonsie Valley 83.05: At DeKalb, the Barbs came out on top at home.

Maddy Keys was the all-around winner for DeKalb with a 36.05.
