Genoa-Kingston 26, Winnebago 3: The Cogs started their season with a strong defensive effort, coming a late field goal away from a shutout in the win at their Big Northern Conference foe.

Kaneland 27, Andrew 23: Corey Phillips had a late touchdown and Troyer Carlson had a monster game in the air for the Knights, who took down the Thunderbolts in their opener.

Hiawatha 54, Blue Ridge 6: Cole Brantley scored three times on the ground, Hayden Bingamen scored twice on the ground and quarterback Chris Korb had a rushing touchdown as well.
