Kaneland’s 80 points were enough to take first place in its home triangular boys track and field meet Tuesday in Maple Park, coming out ahead of Sandwich’s 60 and LaSalle-Peru’s 34.
Elliot Lechocki won the 400 with a time of 58.85 seconds, Noah Allen took first in the 800, and Isaiah Dallal took first in the 3,200 for the Knights.

Newark 12, Hinckley-Big Rock 5: At Newark, the Royals never recovered after allowing six runs in the bottom of the second.
Ben Hintzsche singled, doubled and drove in two runs for H-BR in the loss.
Indian Creek 3, Serena 2: At Serena, the Timberwolves notched a clutch run in the top of the seventh to pick up a road win.
The winning run came on Jeffrey Probst’s sacrifice fly. Drew Gaston earned the win for IC, allowing two earned runs on four hits and a walk in seven innings.
SOFTBALL
DeKalb 11, Waubonsie Valley 4: At DeKalb, the Barbs put together a strong day at the plate in a one-sided win at home.
Jaelyn Latimer earned the win for DeKalb.
GIRLS SOCCER
Kaneland 10, Ottawa 0: At Maple Park, the Knights were dominant at home, scoring double-digit goals. They scored eight times in the first half.
BOYS TENNIS
LaSalle-Peru 3, Kaneland 2: At Maple Park, the Knights came up short in their conference opener at home.
Josh Brunscheen and Aden Mumm accounted for the two Kaneland victories with a pair of singles wins.
