Bureau County United Way postpones annual beer and wine tasting

Event moved to March because of COVID-19 activity

February’s annual Bureau County United Way beer and wine tasting fundraiser has been postponed after a spike in local COVID cases.

Bureau County United Way Executive Director Victoria Yepsen said the decision was made to move the event to March 26 in hopes the recent uptick in cases will subside in the spring.

“We will still hold the event at The Barn at Hornbaker Gardens from 5 to 8 p.m.,” Yepsen said. “We apologize if this causes any inconvenience and hope that everyone who purchased advance tickets will still able to join us.”

Those interested in purchasing tickets, a corporate sponsorship table, or would like to donate silent auction items are asked to contact the BCUW at bcuw@local.unitedway.org or 815-875-2631, ext. 1006.

Individual tickets are $25 and can be purchased in Princeton at Midland States Bank, Heartland Bank and Trust, The Milk Moustache, Guys & Gals Salon and Yepsen Insurance.

“On behalf of myself, the board, and our friends at Hornbaker Gardens, we apologize for this change and still remain hopeful to host a successful event and celebrate our community and its supporters,” Yepsen said.

The BCUW supports over a dozen local health and human support agencies.
