Widmark Wednesday movie series wraps up Dec. 8

Widmark film features actor as crooked lawyer

The Princeton Public Library’s fall film series, “Richard Widmark: Films of the Fabulous Fifties,” wraps up Wednesday, Dec. 8, as Princeton’s famous movie star portrays a lawyer who reluctantly helps an organized crime boss’ attempt to escape from the law.

The film show is a film noir drama set in the desert Southwest where Widmark’s character faces a moral crisis that forces him to choose between right and wrong.

The movie will be shown starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 698 E. Peru St. Admission is free.

Because December is the month of Richard Widmark’s birth 107 years ago, treats will be served in his honor before the movie begins.

The library has more than 50 Widmark film titles on DVD that can be checked out and viewed at home.
