COVID cases continue to decline in Bureau County

Putnam County cases rose by 1, Marshall County cases dropped by 4

There were 16 less COVID-19 cases confirmed in Bureau County and four less cases confirmed in Marshall County since Oct. 18, the Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Department reported.

Cases were up by one in Putnam County since Oct. 18.

There were 26 cases confirmed in Bureau, six in Marshall and six in Putnam in the past week.

The health department continues to offer vaccinations. Clinics are scheduled for Oct. 28 at the Bureau County Health Department, 526 S. Bureau Valley Parkway, Princeton; Oct. 28 at the Putnam County Health Department, 220 E. High St., Hennepin; and Oct. 28 at the Marshall County Health Department, 319 Sixth St., Lacon.

There are 16,226 fully-vaccinated residents of COVID-19 in Bureau County, which is 49.18% of the county’s population; 2,812 fully-vaccinated residents in Putnam County, which is 48.99% of the county’s population; and 5,734 fully-vaccinated residents in Marshall County, which is 49.71% of the county’s population.

One must attest to at least one of the following health conditions to receive the booster at this time: been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood; received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system; received a stem cell transplant within the last two years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system; moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome); advanced or untreated HIV infection; or active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response.
