Princeton Public Library to expand hours

Princeton Public Library

With the current CDC protocols in mind, the Princeton Public Library will be staying open longer.

The library will continue to open at 10 a.m., but will stay open until 8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday. It will be open 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Programs will start between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., depending on the length of the particular program. The meeting room is available for groups when there are no library events scheduled.

The library’s cafe is extending its hours as well. The community has expressed the desire to visit the cafe earlier than when the library opens at 10 a.m. Now that so many in the community have been vaccinated, the board has agreed to meet these requests.

The library board of trustees and staff understand that cafe customers would like to meet with friends earlier than 10 a.m. or come in before work for a cup of coffee. With these customers in mind, we will be opening the cafe earlier on weekdays.

Starting Aug. 2, 2021, the Library Cafe will open at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. The cafe will close at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, to serve those attending library programs and 4 p.m. on Friday. The cafe will continue to open at 10 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

In addition to coffee, the cafe offers an ever-changing menu of teas and special drinks, including seasonal recommendations. The Princeton Public Library’s Cafe staff are offering a number of refreshing cold beverages in addition to coffee to beat the summer heat.
