Tri-County Opportunities Council honors foster grandparents

Foster Grandparent Volunteers honored with special appreciation and recognition ceremony.

The Foster Grandparent Program of Western Illinois presented Awards at a special appreciation and recognition ceremony at Sinnissippi Park on May 21.

Betty Frazier of Princeton was one of 10 volunteers recognized for 5-years of Service. Also honored were Carroll Rogers of Ottawa, Sue Burgett of Rock Falls, Judith Young and Mary McCoy of Dixon, Santos Ferrer, Elvira Saucedo, Letty Cervantes, Josie Saucedo and Donna Tobey, all of Sterling.

Ruth Ross of Dixon was honored for her 17 years of service.

Seven first-year Senior Corps members were honored for answering the call to service the community in the role of mentors, tutors, friends and role models in school based classrooms.
