LADD — The death of the missing Ladd man found between two homes on the same street as his residence Thursday morning was ruled accidental, according to Bureau County Coroner Janice Wamhoff.

Wayne Romagnoli, 82, suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia and had left his home in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 15, Wamhoff said. He was reported missing around 3:10 a.m. and a search by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office and Ladd Police Department ensued.

Wamhoff said Romagnoli was found about 5 a.m. He was pronounced dead at 5:45 a.m. She said he’d fallen several times outdoors and was injured from the falls. The cold temperatures that morning also played a factor in his death. No foul play was suspected in the case, Wamhoff said.
