Princeton man dies following single-vehicle crash

PRINCETON – A 72-year-old man died after a Monday evening single-vehicle crash.

The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to Perry Memorial Hospital after deputies responded to reports of an accident at approximately 5:16 p.m. at Route 6, 1/4 mile east of Park Avenue West. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the hospital, Bureau County Sheriff Jim Reed said in a release.

The cause of the accident still is under investigation. Bureau County sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Princeton Police, Princeton Fire, Life Flight and Bureau County Coroner Janice Wamhoff.
