Area roundup: Bureau Valley edges Hall

The Bureau Valley Storm couldn’t take a sigh of relief until the final buzzer Friday night at the Storm Cellar.

They led Hall by 13 points in the third quarter, fell behind by three points in the fourth quarter and held on for a 65-59 victory in Three Rivers East league play.

Senior Adam Johnson led the Storm (11-11) with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Carter Salisbury added 18 points, including 4 of 4 free throws late to seal the victory. Also for BV, Nevin Bolin had 11 points and Brock Foster and Layton Britt added nine points each.

For Hall, Mac Resetich had 20 points and Drake Garland added 10.

The Storm led 34-31 at the half and 54-45 at the end of third quarter.

Newark 82, LaMoille 30

Joe Quest scored 12 points Friday as the Lions fell in a Little Ten Conference game in LaMoille.

The Lions (1-11, 1-5 LTC) trailed 27-4 after the first quarter.
