2021 All-BCR Volleyball Team

FIRST TEAM

• Katie Bates (Princeton, Sr.): The BCR Player of the Year was one of three unanimous TRAC East All-Conference selections. The senior setter had an area-high 862 assists (10.3), capping her four-year varsity career as the all-time leader for PHS with 2,268 assists. She also ranked among area leaders in digs (295/3.5), points (239/2.8) and aces (43/0.51).

* Lia Bosnich (St. Bede, Sr.): St. Bede won its first regional championship in 20 years and the senior middle hitter was a big factor. Bosnich had 128 kills (1.7) and 52 blocks (0.69). She was a Second Team TRAC East selection.

• McKenzie Hecht (Princeton, Sr.): The First Team TRAC East pick was a key force to the Tigresses’ run to their first regional championship in 10 years. The high-wire jumper led PHS and the area with 265 kills, averaging 3.2 per set. She finished seventh all-time for PHS with 507 career kills.

Ashley Nordstrom (Bureau Valley, Sr.): The senior striker knocked down the fourth most kills (188) in the area, averaging 2.2 per set. The First Team TRAC East selection also ranked among area leaders in digs (218/3.0). She led the Storm to a 6-6 finish in conference.

• Abby Peterson (Princeton, Sr.): The senior libero popped up an area-best 457 digs (5.4), finishing second only to her sister, Corinne (1,010) for most career digs with 897. She also served up an area-high 268 points (3.2), including 27 aces, ranked fourth all-time for PHS (486). She was a Second Team TRAC East All-Conference pick.

• Madison Richards (Princeton, Sr.): The senior middle hitter struck for 187 kills (2.2) and a 43 blocks (0.51). The Second Team TRAC East pick also served for 216 points (2.6) and 20 aces (0.24).

SECOND TEAM

Ali Bosnich (St. Bede, So.): The sophomore middle hitter contributed to the Bruins’ regional championship in a big way, leading the team in both kills (137/1.9) and blocks (58/0.79). Like her sister, Bosnich was a Second Team TRAC East selection.

Olivia Gartin (Princeton, Jr.): PHS coach Andy Puck was most high on the junior outside hitter in camp this fall and she did not disappoint. Gartin was ranked second on the team and the area with 222 kills, averaging 2.6 per set. She received Honorable Mention TRAC East honors.

Maya Gartin (Princeton, Sr.): The senior middle hitter led the Tigresses with 47 blocks (0.56), fourth best in the area and hit for 212 kills (2.5). She received Honorable Mention TRAC East honors.

Katelyn Pullam (Hall/Sr.): The Hall senior libero led all area players with 368 digs, averaging 5.7 per set. She also ranked among area leaders in digs (19/0.29). Pullam received Honorable Mention TRAC East honors.

Kate Salisbury (Bureau Valley, So.): The Storm’s sophomore setter dished out 358 assists, averaging 4.9 per set, and will be the top returning setter next year in Bureau County. She received Second Team TRAC East honors.

Taylor Wetsel (Princeton, Sr.): A key contributor to the Tigresses’ regional championship run, the senior defensive specialist ranked among area leaders in digs (218/2.6), points (233/2.7) and aces (22/0.26). She is ranked fifth all-time in points (445) and sixth all-time in digs (434).
