BCR insider: Princeton is a No. 7 seed in the Chillicothe sub-sectional and gets to play at home for its first regional match, hosting a familiar foe in No. 10. Riverdale. They have played three times with one win and two ties. Outside of Mendota, which is a heavy favorite, but one the Tigers would not have to face until the sectional championship, PHS coach David Gray says there is a lot of parity. “Regionals are interesting. Mendota is the best team in the area, and it seems that most of the rest of the teams are relatively equal. When I look at everyone’s results it seems that no one else stands way above the rest. The benefit for us is that Mendota is on the opposite side of the bracket, and we would not have to face them until the sectional championship, if we were fortunate enough to get there. Our first match is vs Riverdale and we have had some good battles with them this year. I believe we have a good chance to win on Friday, but we need to come ready to play.” ... The winner of the Tigers-Rams match would draw the winner between Somonauk and No. 3 Earlville in Moline in semifinal play at 4:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13.
