State berths on the line for area golfers at today’s sectionals

Area golfers will be teeing up for state golf berths in today’s sectionals around north central Illinois.

The St. Bede girls qualified for a team and are competing in the Geneseo 1A Sectional at the Kewanee Dunes in Kewanee. Lady Bruin golfers are Ava Manicki, Molly Gonzales, Adriana Buchanan, Gianna Grivetti, Aleanna Mendoza and Brianne Briggs. They placed third at the Riverdale Sectional.

St. Bede also sends a pair of boys, juniors Jake Delaney and Brendan Pillion, to the Prairie View Golf Club in Byron for the 1A Sectional. They are joined by the Hall tandem of cousins Landen (a freshman) and Grant (a junior) Plym.

In 2A, Jaden Eggers represents Princeton in the Metamora Sectional at the Metamora Field Golf Club.
