Riverdale boys, Sherrard girls teams to beat in Three Rivers Cross Country Meet

WALNUT - Team and individual championships will be on the line for the Three Rivers Cross Country Meet at Bureau Valley North School in Walnut Tuesday.

Bureau Valley will host the conference meet starting with the varsity girls at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity boys at 5:15 p.m.

Hall, Princeton and St. Bede will all join the Storm runners along with Erie-Prophetstown, Hall, Kewanee, Morrison, Newman, Orion, Princeton, Riverdale, Rockridge, Sherrard St. Bede and TRAC newcomers Mendota and Monmouth-Roseville.

Riverdale is the boys team to beat and has the top runner in Tommy Murray, who’s run a 15:31 this year. Landis Musser and Peyton Sands are also very good runners for Riverdale. Newman should be a solid second.

Other top runners will be Elijah House-Bureau Valley, Colin VanStechelman-Kewanee,, Brady Wolf-Morrsion, Adam Brimeyer-Sherrard, Tom Powers and Lucas Schaab both of Newman.

On the girls’ side, Sherrard looks like the favorite for the team title. Olivia Thomsen of Orion has run the fastest time this year, but was beaten by Natalee Martin of Kewanee Saturday.

Hallie Shemak-Sherrard, Beth Churchill-Sherrard, Lexi Bohms-Princeton, Madison Mathis-Sherrard, and Dylan Chandler-Erie/Prophetstown appear to be the other top runners.
