At a glance: The Red Devils have played their best in the 18-hole events, finishing top 3 in every stroke-play tournament, so their strategy isn’t going to change at all, coach Mason Kimberley said. He added that, “We’re at a course that we’re comfortable with, so as long as we stay mentally tough the entire day, we will have a good shot to advance.” ... Hall freshman Landen Plym brings in an area-best average of 38.3 with his cousin, Grant Plym (42.5), Nick Arrate (44.8), Rivers Jordan (46.1) and Josh Scheri (46.1) looking to get the Red Devils out. ... Senior Bryson Smith, who was a sectonal qualifier as a sophomore is the leading swing for the Storm at 42. He teams up with Seth Spratt (44), Cooper Balensiefen (48), Landen Birdsley (48) and Parker Stier (49). ... “We are in a very tough regional again this year. But I think if Bryson and Seth Spratt continue to play the way they have over the past couple of weeks they have a real shot at advancing. Cooper, Landen and Parker have all had some nice rounds this year. So it will depend on the day, I guess,” BV coach Jack Gustafson said. ... Leaders for the Bruins all year have been Brendon Pillion and Jake Delaney, both averaging 42.5 and that is with “the bad round or two that every golfer has,” coach Rich Cummings said. “I think they both have a real opportunity to advance if the stay within themselves and limit giving away strokes to the course.” Cummings said his other golfers are capable of putting up a low number as “Trenton Acuncius played very well at the TRAC and Logan Potthoff learned some valuable lesions last week as well.” ... Riverdale won last week’s Three Rivers Meet on at Byron Hills behind medalist James Moorhusen (72) and will be favored again back its home course Wednesday. The Rams beat out Sherrard 305-333 for team honors at the TRAC with Hall (336) edging St. Bede by the fifth-man tiebreaker and key final putt by Rivers Jordan. ... Chris Uzella of Putnam County shot a hole-in-one in last week’s Tri-County Conference Meet.

At a glance: PHS (546 enrollment) is the smallest of the six public schools which average 913 topped out by Richwoods at 1301. PHS coach Brandon Crawford said the Tigers will have their work cut out for them. “The regional is going to have a strong field. There will be some really good teams coming out of the Peoria area that are very talented. As a team, we have been starting to put some things together that have resulted in some success (second place finish at the Mendota Ryder Cup), so hopefully we can continue to build on that and represent Princeton High School and the PHS golf program at a high level,” he said. “Everyone has to play the same course, under the same conditions, on the same day so anything could happen. We need to be mentally prepared and approach the day with a mindset to make the best score possible on each hole while remembering the only swing that matters is the one we are about to make.” ... Jaden Eggers leads the Tigers with a 41 average per 9 holes followed by Karter Patterson 44, Jarrett Carr 44, Jordan Reinhardt 46, Joshua Peterson 47 and Jack Bauer 47. ...
