Princeton remains No. 2 in 3A

The Princeton Tigers were ranked No. 2 in Class 3A again in this week’s AP state poll.

The Tigers (4-0) received three first-place votes, one by BCR Sports Editor, Kevin Hieronymus, and 89 votes overall. Wilmington (4-0) received the other seven first-place votes and 96 points to remain No. 1.

The top 10 teams in 3A are all undefeated with Monticello (79), Tolono Unity (62) and Williamsville (60) rounding out the top 5.

St. Bede (3-1) missed the 1A rankings, receiving 13 points along with Aurora Christian as the next teams outside the Top 10. Hieronymus tabbed the Bruins No. 5 after defeating Newman last week 13-7.

Lena-Winslow (4-0) received all nine first-pace votes and 90 points to retain the top spot in 1A. Ottawa Marquette received two points.

In 2A, Rockridge (2-2), Newman (2-2) and Clifton Central (3-1) tied for No. 10 with six points. Decatur St. Theresa (97) remained No. 1 in 2A ahead of IC (3/88).
