Bureau, Putnam, Marshall County Health Departments will not expand vaccine eligibility Thursday

Health department will continue vaccinating individuals 65 and older and essential workers

The state will move to an expanded Phase 1b on Thursday; however, the Bureau, Putnam, and Marshall County Health Departments will not be expanding Phase 1b because of dose allotment.

The health department will continue vaccinating individuals 65 and older and essential workers who reside in Bureau, Putnam or Marshall counties.

The state increased the eligibility for Phase 1b to include people with certain underlying conditions. The list of qualifying high-risk medical conditions (which is subject to change) includes: cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD, diabetes, heart condition, immunocompromised state from a solid organ transplant, obesity, pregnancy, pulmonary disease and sickle cell disease.

There will be an announcement when the Bureau, Putnam, and Marshall County Health Departments plan to expand Phase 1b, the health departments said.
