‘For the Love of Animals’ virtual auction to benefit care of wildlife, pets needing homes

Animal shelter merged with wildlife center to become Anderson Humane

Anderson Animal Shelter in St. Charles Township and Fox Valley Wildlife Center in Elburn are hosting a virtual benefit, “For the Love of Animals,” sponsored by Premier Living Properties in St. Charles, officials announced in a news release.

Last year, Anderson Animal Shelter and Fox Valley Wildlife Center merged into a single entity, Anderson Humane.

As a new kind of organization, they will care for orphaned and injured wildlife as well as continue the work of placing homeless pets with loving families.

Together, they are caring for more than 7,000 animals each year, and they’re doing it all – “For the Love of Animals,” the release stated.

One of Anderson’s biggest and most important fundraisers of the year, the love-themed benefit runs from Feb. 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 13, offering a week-long online auction featuring over 75 items to bid on, the release stated.

The items range from small home-decor pieces to animal-created artwork to sailboat journeys.

Registration is open to the public at www.andersonanimalshelter.org.

The event culminates with an informative virtual program Feb. 13. The pre-show begins at 5:30 p.m., featuring registration and auction how-to’s and information, followed by the virtual benefit from 6 to 7 p.m., which consists of expert interviews and compelling stories that demonstrate their mission.

Anderson’s program highlights a variety of animal-related topics, videos and live entertainment, the release stated.
