Kendall Master Gardeners to host plant sale May 15

Give your gardens a boost and give back to the community with the annual Kendall County Master Gardener Plant Sale on Saturday, May 15.

The sale will include native plants, vegetable transplants and nursery-stock perennials, with shopping open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of Illinois Extension office, 7775B Route 47, Yorkville, about one mile south of Route 71.

The Master Gardener volunteers started more than 600 vegetable seedlings, including 14 varieties of tomatoes and eight pepper varieties. Payments may be made by cash or check. Proceeds support the Kendall County Master Gardener program and community projects.

Master Gardeners also will be on hand to answer gardening questions, and provide free presentations, including “Raising Monarch Butterflies,” with Patricia Baroni of Montgomery at 9:30 a.m.

At the sale, physical distancing and face masks will be required. This event could be impacted by weather or by updated COVID-19 guidelines from Illinois Department of Public Health or University of Illinois. Updates will be available at go.illinois.edu/KendallMasterGardenerPlantSale2021.

For information or if you need reasonable accommodation to participate, call the office at 630-553-5823 or email fellerer@illinois.edu. Early requests are encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting your needs.
