The Venue, the 200-seat music performance space in downtown Aurora, adds a special show to its November offerings.
Patrick Sweany’s debut appearance at The Venue scheduled for Nov. 12 has been rescheduled for March 4. All purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled date; contact the box office for any additional information or refunds.
The Willy Porter Trio will perform at The Venue at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13. Willy Porter is no stranger to The Venue. His 2019 solo performance at the large listening space is still being talked about, concert organizers stated in a news release.
Porter has written and toured relentlessly for over 30 years. His writing has explored the depths of language, the nuance of music and the baring of soul. This show is especially meaningful, as Porter is bringing band mates Dave Schoepke and Eric Maduric with him. The band will feature Porter’s extraordinary acoustic and electric guitar work.
Premium seating costs $28, and general admission $23; all ticket prices increase by $5 at the door.
Big band tunes
The Pete Ellman Jazz Big Band will continue its weekly residency series at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays. The opening set gives area students the opportunity to perform before a live audience at The Venue. Most recently, the opening set showcased Elmhurst University musicians, followed by the headliner. General admission costs $5. The series is sponsored by the Fox Valley Music Foundation.
All patrons will be asked to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination along with a photo ID to enter. Masks are required at all times except while consuming beverages in ticketed seats.
