The Venue to livestream packed lineup of concerts in March

Booked are Flying Nowakowski Brothers, Noah Gabriel, Dave Sills, Irish Mystics among performers

The Venue, the 200-seat music performance space in Aurora, will continue livestream performances in the month of March. All shows will be broadcast live from The Venue’s Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.

At each performance, a donation is suggested and donations are split between the artists and the Fox Valley Music Foundation. All information and schedules can be found at http://themusicvenue.org.

The Darling Suns will kick off the month at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, with their indie rock sound intertwined with folk roots drawing influence from Dr. Dog, Arcade Fire, and War on Drugs, a news release stated. With haunting, yet beautiful lyrics about love, loss and heartbreak, the upbeat melodies around them became a defiant and powerful way of delivering a message. https://thedarlingsuns.com

The Flying Nowakowski Brothers, appearing at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 7, have been rocking the Chicago area since 2003. Yes, they really are brothers, and some say they’ve seen them fly. Noah Gabriel, appearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, has a boatload of albums to his credit ranging in styles from folk to blues to hard rock. He has refined his craft and is regarded as one of the top singer-songwriters from Illinois. https://noahgabriel.com/

An Encore Album Cover Tribute to “Tom Petty: Damn The Torpedoes! will be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 14, featuring Scott Tipping and a group he assembled for the occasion.

The Irish Mystics, a newly formed band consisting of Irish singer David Sean Glynn, Rich and Chevy of the Empty Can Band and fiddle player Andy Masters, will perform all of your Irish favorites, traditional folk as well as rockers like Thin Lizzy, The Pogues and The Waterboys, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day. http://theirishmystics.com

The monthly series “What’s on Your Turntable,” Kiss the Sky Records of Batavia owner Steve Warrenfeltz’s exploration of the personal record collections of the not so rich and famous, will feature special guest Chad Watson, bass-player extraordinaire. This show livestreams at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17.

At 7 p.m. Sunday, March 21, gifted songwriter Dave Sills and his sidekick Chris Walke will revisit songs from his latest album, “The Stars That Hang Above.” https://davesills.com/

Rachel Drew makes her Venue debut at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24. She grew up in a musical household on the north side of Chicago. She entered the Chicago music scene in 2015, having already written hundreds of songs, and has quickly become a highly sought after performer. http://www.racheldrew.com/

The monthly series, “The Venue for Venues,” will feature the iconic music room Fitzgerald’s in Berwyn. Scott Tipping will interview recent owner Will Duncan and talent buyer Donnie Biggins to learn all about the great history of the club. A musical performance will be included. Tune in at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 28. Venues like Fitzgerald’s are really suffering during the pandemic, so all proceeds will go to the club for this livestream. https://www.fitzgeraldsnightclub.com/

All of The Venue livestreams remain available after the performances on both The Venue’s Facebook Page and YouTube Channel, but donations are only shared during the real-time livestreams with performers and other venues, so it’s best to catch them while they are in progress.

“We hope to break to the outside with live music in Mundy Park (adjacent to The Venue) in June,” organizers stated in the release.

Livestreams will continue through April and May 2021.
