Woodstock Opera House to highlight Mark Dvorak in livestream folk concert

The Woodstock Opera House Spotlight Series will present a livestream performance at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, starring Mark Dvorak.

Over the last two decades, Dvorak has forged a reputation as an uncompromising road warrior, traveling to 36 states and to Europe with only his songs, stories, guitar and five-string banjo, a news release stated.

His latest CD on the Waterbug label, “Time Ain’t Got Nothin’ On Me,” has been receiving rave reviews and airplay nationwide. Dvorak will perform songs from that disc, as well as more well-known material, and favorites from his previous recordings. “Time Ain’t Got Nothin’ On Me” is his 17th CD release.

Sing Out! magazine says, “Dvorak shines.” His songwriting has been called “wondrous” and “profound,” and he has an “encyclopedic knowledge of traditional songs.” Presented by Off Square Music, his show is “funny, passionate, intimate and unforgettable.”
