February 2021 was supposed to be the fifth annual Oswego Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Oswego Police Explorer Post 2535 and the Kiwanis Club of Oswego. But because of COVID-19, this year’s event is going virtual with a livestreamed pancake flip-off and raffle with a grand prize of $2,021.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, there will be a Facebook Live event that includes a pancake-flipping contest with everyone’s favorite Kendall County law enforcement leaders and a live drawing of the raffle prize winners.
Flip your luck in 2021 by buying a ticket. Raffle tickets cost $20 and only 500 tickets will be sold. In addition to the grand prize of $2,021, there will be a second prize of a $500 Meijer gift card and a third prize of a pancake extravaganza basket valued at more than $150. Tickets are available through Kiwanis Club members, Police Explorer Post members or online via Eventbrite at shawurl.com/3eer.
The pancake flip-off contestants include Oswego Police Chief Jeff Burgner, Montgomery Police Chief Phil Smith, Yorkville Police Chief Jim Jensen, Plano Police Chief Jon Whowell and reigning pancake flip-off champion, Kendall County Sheriff Dwight Baird.
The flip-off will be a Facebook Live event on the Oswego Pancake Breakfast Facebook Page. Make sure to like the page for updates. The raffle winners will be announced after the pancake flip-off during the live event.
