PrairieFest Quilt Show set at Oswego museum; raffle underway

The PrairieFest 2021 Quilt Show returns this weekend.

Area residents who own heirloom family quilts or quilts they have created or purchased were encouraged to display their fabric treasures at this year’s show.

It will take place during the 2021 PrairieFest community celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 4, noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 5 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 at Oswego’s Little White School Museum, 72 Polk St.

The show is co-hosted by the Quilters Dozen Quilting Club, the Oswegoland Park District and the Little White School Museum.

Quilt raffle fundraiser

In addition to planning their annual quilt show, the Quilters Dozen has kicked off their annual fundraiser, the Prairie Fest Quilt Raffle. One lucky winner will take home the 2021 PrairieFest quilt, “Stars and Stripes,” named for its patriotic color scheme. The cheerful red, white and blue quilt measures 63-by-74 inches, a perfect size for snuggling on a couch or chair. It is made entirely of cotton fabric and is hand quilted by Quilters Dozen members.

Quilt raffle donation is $1 a ticket or six for $5. Raffle tickets are available from quilt club members and online at PrairieFest.com. Tickets for the raffle will be sold during the show. Proceeds benefit Oswego American Legion Post 675 and the Oswegoland Park District’s PrairieFest celebration.

The Quilters Dozen meets weekly at the Oswego American Legion Post 675 home, 19 W. Washington St., Oswego.
