LAKE FOREST – Bears running back David Montgomery was a surprise addition to the Bears’ injury report Wednesday. Montgomery sat out practice Wednesday with shoulder, groin and glute injuries, according to the team’s report.
Montgomery ran for 90 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in Sunday’s loss to Arizona. He also caught eight passes for 51 yards. He did not appear to suffer an injury during the game.
Also sitting out Wednesday were quarterback Andy Dalton (left hand), outside linebacker Trevis Gipson (illness), tight end Jimmy Graham (rest) and kicker Cairo Santos (illness).
Quarterback Justin Fields returned to full participation after nursing a rib injury for two weeks. Fields is expected to start Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

In more positive news, receiver Allen Robinson (hamstring) and defensive tackle Akiem Hicks (ankle) both returned to practice in a limited capacity. Neither former Pro Bowler has played or practiced since the Nov. 8 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Also limited was defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. (ribs), receiver Marquise Goodwin (foot), inside linebacker Christian Jones (back) and running back Damien Williams (calf).
